Princess Di’s Estate May Sue The Ritz

Compiled From Wire Services

Advisers to Princess Diana’s estate are considering a multimillion-dollar claim against the Ritz Hotel in Paris in compensation for her premature death, The Sunday Times reported.

The estate could sue if French investigators rule that Ritz chauffeur Henri Paul, who was driving the Mercedes limousine Diana was in when it crashed in a Paris tunnel, was responsible for her death. Paul and Diana’s boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, also died in the Aug. 31 accident.

Fayed’s father, Mohamed Al Fayed, owns the Ritz.

Tests revealed that Paul was three times over the French drunken driving limit when the car crashed in a traffic tunnel.

Quoting an unidentified royal source, the paper said the minimum claim would be $13.4 million.
