Lufthansa Orders Five Boeing 747-400s

From Staff And Wire Reports

Lufthansa German Airlines has ordered five Boeing 747-400s worth $825 million, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group said Tuesday.

Lufthansa’s board of directors approved the purchase earlier this month. In October, the airline also exercised options for two 747-400s. To date, Lufthansa has ordered 60 of the jumbo jets.

The world’s largest commercial jetliner, the 747-400 can carry 420 passengers 8,400 miles.
