WEDNESDAY, DEC. 24, 1997

A Spokane man was arrested Monday after eluding police in a high-speed chase, police said.

Frank James Kennedy, 37, of 1729 W. Mallon, was booked on charges of eluding police, possession of methamphetamine and an outstanding warrant out of Ellensburg.

Officers stopped a man driving a van without headlights on Monday afternoon at Railroad and Madison. The van ran a stop sign and drove across the Maple Street Bridge at 50 mph, police said.

He ran from the van and was caught in the 900 block of West First, police said. Officers found a baggie of methamphetamine in his possession.
