Christmas Worship Services Held Today

The day has finally arrived. The presents have been opened, the family is gathered together and Christmas dinner is cooking. Now would be a good time to visit one of the North Side churches holding worship services today. Here are some of them:

Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will have a worship service today at 10 a.m.

St. Aloysius Catholic Church will celebrate Mass today at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The church is located at 402 E. Boone.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3909 W. Rowan, will hold a 10 a.m. worship service today.

St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church will celebrate a Mass with Christmas carols today at 10 a.m. The church is located at 1325 E. Queen.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, will have Christmas Day Mass today at 10:30 a.m.

Combined service Sunday

St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal Street, will have a special combined worship service at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Special service at Country Homes

Country Homes Christian Church will hold a special service of “Carols, Candles and Christmas Stories” at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The contemporary worship service and Sunday school will not be held. The church is located at 8415 N. Wall.

Two services at Whitworth Presbyterian

Whitworth Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road, will hold only two worship services, at 8:45 and 10 a.m., on Sunday. Sunday School has been cancelled.

New Year’s potluck next

Wednesday The North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison, will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a potluck at 6 p.m. Wednesday. A party will follow and a worship service at 8:30 p.m. will round out the evening.

Family night in Mead

Mead United Methodist Church, 2515 E. Farwell Road, will host a family night on New Year’s Eve beginning at 7 p.m. The free evening will include games and refreshments. A short worship service will be held at midnight.
