Keep Your Holiday Spirit Alive By Attending Church Services

Nina Culver Staff Writer

The presents have all been opened, many people are basking in the calm of an extra day or two off from work, and the Christmas dinner has been eaten - although the leftovers may last until the new year.

Some people, though, aren’t that eager to let the Christmas spirit slip through their grasp so easily. For those who need one last dose of Christmas cheer, take note of these special worship services listed below.

Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a traditional worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The church choir will perform the cantata “The Reason for the Season” during the service.

The church is located at 2511 S. Pines.

Christmas story

The Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Road, will have a worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The members of the church will dust off their creativity for a rendition of the Christmas story during the service.

Caroling service

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will have a special caroling service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Those attending will have the opportunity to pick their favorite Christmas songs to sing.

The church will have a Word and Sacrament service at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Again, those attending can choose what Christmas carols to sing.

The church is located at 810 S. Sullivan Road.

New Year’s bash

Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene will host a New Year’s Eve bash from 8 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday. The family-oriented evening will include fun and games for all ages.

Those attending are asked to bring their favorite snack food and board games to share.

The church is located at 8822 E. Upriver Drive.
