Colville Outlasts Bonners

Girls basketball

Ellen Shaw tossed in eight of the Indians’ 15 points in overtime as Colville (4-2) outlasted the Bonners Ferry Badgers 68-58 at the West Valley Tournament on Monday night.

Amber Paulson scored a game-high 34 points for the Badgers.

In the other game, Gabby McClintock and Heather Huffman combined for 37 points and six 3-pointers to lead the West Valley Eagles (3-4) past the Medical Lake Cardinals (2-2) 58-35.

West Valley will play Colville today at 2:30 p.m. for the championship. Medical Lake and Bonners Ferry will play a consolation final at 12:45 p.m.

Reardan Tournament

Wynne Scherf and Molly Carlson combined for 22 rebounds and the Selkirk Rangers (6-1) topped the Davenport Gorillas (1-6) 62-43.

In the second game, Kristen Turner had a game-high 21 points and seven steals and the Reardan Indians (4-1) held Rosalia (1-7) to zero field goals in the first half and beat the Spartans 50-23.

Selkirk and Reardan square off in the championship game tonight at 6. Rosalia and Davenport play for third place at 3.

Nicole Hunt’s game-high 12 rebounds helped Odessa control the boards by a 31-9 margin and the Tigers (3-3) held off the Northwest Christian Crusaders (2-4).

In the second game, Jo Cory scored 16 points to lead the Liberty Lancers (4-4) past the Freeman Scotties (0-7) 47-34.

Odessa will play Liberty tonight at 6 in the championship game. Northwest Christian and Freeman will meet at 2 p.m. in the consolation finals.
