Unbridled’s Song Retired

Unbridled’s Song, the beaten 1996 Kentucky Derby favorite, who was plagued by injuries, was retired because of a fractured cannon bone in his left front leg.

Trainer Nick Zito said Unbridled’s Song galloped Friday morning and appeared to have problems. The fracture was discovered after additional X-rays; it will take four to six months to heal.
