Two Spokanites Injured When Snowmobile Hits Cable Gate

Two Spokane men were seriously injured Friday in a snowmobile accident.

Chad D. Morey, 27, and Dru T. Girnis, 29, were headed east along the railroad tracks near Market and Hawthorne roads at 2 a.m. when their snowmobile struck a cable gate.<

The two Spokane men, who were not wearing helmets, were thrown off their Yamaha 440 snowmobile and landed 100 feet away, according to the Washington State Patrol.

They suffered facial injuries and were brought by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital.

Morey was in serious condition Saturday, hospital officials said. Girnis was treated and released Friday.
