Bail Set In Loon Lake Robbery, Assault

From Staff And Wire Reports

Bail was set at $75,000 Monday for a suspect in a weekend robbery and assault in which the victim reported he was tied to two trees and pistol whipped.

The victim, James L. Peterson, 39, said the assailant pointed the pistol at him and pulled the trigger, but it misfired. He said the incident occurred Saturday at Loon Lake.

Tracy S. Walter, 34, was arrested Saturday evening when sheriff’s deputies found him nearby in possession of Peterson’s 1981 Subaru.

Sheriff Craig Thayer said the prosecutor’s office plans to charge Walter with first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.

A girl, whom authorities declined to identify, also was arrested. She was released to a legal guardian.
