Kara Wolters scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots Sunday as top-ranked Connecticut beat No. 15 Notre Dame 72-49 in a Big East game at Storrs, Conn.

Connecticut (22-0, 13-0) extended its conference winning streak to 29 and its regular-season streak to 35.

Notre Dame (20-5, 12-1) shot just 27.7 percent, including 18.2 percent in the second half (6 for 33).

After taking a 35-25 lead at the half, the Huskies went on a 13-4 run to open the second half. Wolters had six points and an assist in that stretch.

Amy Duran scored 13 points for Connecticut, going 3 of 4 on 3-pointers. Rita Williams and Shea Ralph added 10 points each, while Paige Sauer had eight points and eight rebounds.

Katryna Gaither led the Irish with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Tora Suber scored 23 points and Monick Foote added 22 and 10 rebounds as the Cavaliers defeated the Wolfpack at Charlottesville, Va.

The Cavaliers (18-4, 10-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) led by only 10 points at halftime but shot 59 percent from the floor in the second half.

Virginia made 10 of 18 3-pointers and outrebounded the Wolfpack 43-38.

N.C. State (15-9, 5-6) was led by Chastity Melvin’s 23 points.
