Charge Against Ex-Undersheriff Dropped

From Staff And Wire Reports

A fourth-degree domestic violence charge against former Pend Oreille County Undersheriff Roger Henderson has been dismissed because authorities have been unable to contact the victim and a witness.

“If the witnesses turn up again, the case could be reopened,” said Deputy Prosecutor Mike Carbone.

He said the 14-year-old victim and a witness described as her brother-in-law did not respond last month to letters from the prosecutor’s office.

The girl had been staying with her sister and brother-in-law in Spokane after Henderson allegedly grabbed her by the hair and choked her during an argument at his home in Pend Oreille County last August. , DataTimes
