Musical Tells Story Of Shy Young Woman

Nine Culver Correspondent

A touring troupe of Christian performers will present a musical called “The Eight Cow Saint” at Opportunity Free Methodist Church, 1313 N. Pines, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 27.

The musical tells the story of a shy young woman. She lives in a village where it is tradition for a man to give a cow to the family of the woman he wishes to marry, but no one offers a cow for her.

The story focuses on the woman’s search for self worth and how her family and the village come to value her.

The musical will be performed by the members of the Taproot Theatre’s road company. The professional theater company is made up of Christian performers who travel around the country performing plays and musicals.

The performance is free but a free will offering will be collected.
