If you don’t think the JonBenet Ramsey murder case has captured the imagination of a nation suddenly bereft of an O.J. Simpson trial, consider this:
Geraldo’s coming to Boulder.
And, in a bizarre twist to a already unusual case, Geraldo Rivera said he plans to host a show from Pasta Jay’s restaurant, owned by Jay Elowsky, who is facing felony charges for allegedly threatening members of the media.
“It will be the beginning of our intense coverage of the case,” Rivera said. “‘Geraldo Live’ will become the program of record for the investigation, arrest and trial of JonBenet’s killer.”
Elowsky couldn’t be reached for comment.
Rivera’s remarks validate concerns voiced by local officials that with Simpson’s civil wrongful death trial finally over, the unsolved sexual assault and strangulation of 6-year-old JonBenet will be the media’s means of filling the Simpson void.
