Sprinter Irina Privalova set two season’s bests, and sprinter Michael Green, hurdler Michelle Freeman and long jumper Ivan Pedroso set one each at an indoor track and field meet in Lievin, France.

Privalova, of Russia, won the women’s 60 meters in 7.02 seconds and the 200 in 22.52. Green, of Jamaica, won the men’s 60 meters in 6.49. Freeman, of Jamaica, won the women’s 60-meter hurdles at 7.77, and Pedroso, of Cuba, took the men’s long jump at 28 feet, 2 inches.

The United States Olympic Committee wrapped up its semiannual meeting in Philadelphia by opting to vote by mail - with the vote to be announced in late June - as to whether it will seek the 2008 Games. Interested cities have until May 1 to respond with a letter of intent to bid, along with a $100,000 bidding fee.

Troubled St. Louis Rams running back Lawrence Phillips, placed on probation last week for drunken driving, was arrested and ticketed for disorderly conduct after a disturbance at a hotel in Omaha, Neb.

Joe Goldin shot 11 for 11 from 3-point range and scored 43 points as Randolph-Macon defeated Emory & Henry 94-74.

Goldin broke the Division III record for consecutive 3-point field goals made in a game, and he also broke the mark for most 3-pointers without a miss.
