Ferris Clinches Another Gsl Title

GSL boys basketball

Ferris won its second straight Greater Spokane League boys basketball title Tuesday night when the Saxons knocked off rival Lewis and Clark and short-handed Shadle Park lost at Central Valley.

Jeremy Lucke scored 20 points to spark the Saxons to a 64-44 win over LC at the Arena. At CV, the Highlanders were without three starters, out for disciplinary reasons, and lost 56-53.

One position remains open for the District 8 tournament next week. Rogers is one game behind Gonzaga Prep heading into Thursday’s regular-season wrapup. Rogers plays at Mead and LC is at Gonzaga Prep. If the teams tie, a tiebreaker game would be played this weekend.

Rogers’ De’Andrey Mosby had 20 points Tuesday and has the league scoring title wrapped up.

CV 56, Shadle 53

Marc Hinkley scored seven of his 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Bears (10-9, 9-6) upset the Highlanders (15-5, 13-3).

Their return has not been determined but the Highlanders have finished their regular season and have a bye for the first round of the District tournament on Tuesday.

Chris Anderson stepped in and scored 17 points for the Highlanders, including three 3-pointers.

Tom Perkes led CV with seven rebounds. Ryan Hann added 13 points for Shadle.
