Priest Busted For Transporting Cocaine

Compiled From Wire Services

A Roman Catholic priest from the Netherlands was arrested Tuesday with 2 kilos of cocaine he planned to transport home for a fee of $4,000, officials said.

Cornelis Stark, 51, was arrested at Simon Bolivar International Airport after a routine check of passengers. Authorities said they found the cocaine hidden in a wide belt wrapped around his waist.

Stark had arrived from neighboring Surinam and was wearing his black religious vestments, officials said. They said Stark told them he was to be paid $4,000 for transporting the drugs.
