After failing his driver’s test 17 times and driving illegally for three decades, a 73-year-old Dutchman says he will give it one last try.
Jan Boekholt was caught driving his Opel Corsa without a license last month in this northern Dutch village. If police catch him driving illegally again, his car will be confiscated.
Boekholt says he has flunked so many times because of his fear of taking exams, the De Telegraaf daily reported Tuesday.
Boekholt recently started driving lessons again, but said if he fails, he plans to buy a special “invalid auto” - a low-powered vehicle that can go just 28 mph and doesn’t require a license.
