Deliberations Start In Double-Murder Trial
A Spokane County jury spent all of Wednesday deliberating but was unable to reach a verdict in the Joseph Andrews double-murder trial.
Andrews, 26, is accused of murdering two Spokane residents three years ago over a $1,000 drug debt.
If the jury finds the admitted drug dealer guilty of aggravated murder, the trial will move into a second phase to decide if Andrews deserves the death penalty or life imprisonment without parole.
Jurors started their deliberations Wednesday morning because they had to check into a Spokane hotel late Tuesday night after hearing closing arguments.
The six-man, six-woman jury is being sequestered.
