Marine Corps Plane Crashes, Killing Two
A Marine Corps training plane crashed in the mountains of Southern California’s Cleveland National Forest, killing both Navy pilots on board.
The pilots, flying a T-34 Beechcraft Bonanza turboprop, crashed Wednesday night in Silverado Canyon during a trip from El Toro Marine Air Station in Orange County to the El Central Naval Air Station near the Mexican border.
They were going there to evaluate a flight landing exercise that a Marine fighter attack squadron was going to conduct.
