Man Arrested For Stealing Car, Snowmobiles, Trailer

Police responding to two calls 10 minutes apart early Monday found a 20-year-old North Side man with a stolen car, snowmobile, snowmobile trailer and a bag of methamphetamine.

They arrested Ricky Mueller, 1724 E. Wabash. He was in the Spokane County jail Tuesday.

Mueller’s woes started at 12:30 a.m. Monday, when an officer checking a report of a stolen car found the 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo parked behind Mueller’s home on East Wabash.

At 12:40, police responded to a complaint of two snowmobiles zooming city streets. Police tried chasing one of the snowmobiles down the alley behind the 1700 block of East Wabash, but got stuck in the snow.

But the snowmobiles were spotted behind Mueller’s home a few minutes later, near the stolen car and snowmobile trailer.

While searching Mueller, officers found the drugs.

Mueller also didn’t have proof of ownership or purchase of a snow blower found at his house, and police are investigating.

Burglars steal bathtub

Burglars entered an unfinished home on Christmas Day and stole a bathtub.

A private security guard patrolling the area checked the home at Helena and Lincoln at 11 p.m. A half-hour later, he checked the home and found the bathtub missing.

Police are looking for a two-tone Chevrolet Blazer, either green or blue with white markings. Police have no suspects.

Two arrested after car chase

A West Central man and a Hillyard woman were arrested last week after a high-speed chase across north Spokane.

Jack Lamere was arrested for running from police and posession of stolen property and an unregistered gun.

Shannon Green, a passenger, was arrested for having methamphetamine.

About 1:30 a.m. last Thursday, a sheriff’s deputy spotted someone driving a pickup truck with its headlights off. The deputy followed the car and tried to pull it over when he found it was stolen.

The driver took the deputy, and officers from Washington State Patrol and Spokane police for a ride, driving up to 60 miles an hour on snowy northeast Spokane streets.

At Addison and Columbia, two people jumped out and ran.

Officers quickly found Lamere and Green. A police dog tracking Lamere’s scent found a gun and knives in a nearby wood pile.
