Nic Wrestler Clausen Wins Title

North Idaho’s Josh Clausen decisioned Simon White of Montana State-Northern 5-1 to capture first place in the 190-pound weight class at the Pacific Lutheran Collegiate Open wrestling tournament Saturday in Tacoma.

NIC’s Mark Janke (150) finished second after losing to Simon Fraser’s Steve Rose 11-5 in the title match.

The Cardinals had four wrestlers place third: Jessie Schaeffer (134), Ben Shane (142), Jason Mooney (177) and Aaron McArthur (275).

NIC got fifth-place finishes from Dan Vega (118), Lyle Cronk (134) and Matt Armstrong (158).
