Lsu Hoops Phenom Dismissed
Freshman Lester Earl, Louisiana State’s No. 2 scorer and No. 3 rebounder, has been dismissed from the team for violation of team rules.
LSU coach Dale Brown announced Earl’s dismissal late Saturday, according to a university news release issued Sunday. The expulsion came two days after Brown indefinitely suspended Earl for missing practices.
Earl, a 6-foot-9 forward, played in 11 of LSU’s first 14 games. He averaged 9.3 points per game.
Long Beach State University guard Tommie Davis was suspended from today’s Big West Conference opening game against Boise State for elbowing a player, it was announced.
The one-game suspension was issued because Davis threw an elbow at the back of a University of Montana player’s head in the final seconds of a Dec. 21 non-conference game in Missoula.
