Wilbur-Creston Snaps Sje’s 38-Game Win Streak

The streak ended Tuesday, or maybe it has just begun.

Janelle Allen scored 21, including five in overtime, as Wilbur-Creston beat St. John-Endicott 65-59 in a non-leaguer at St. John to end the Eagles’ 38-game winning streak.

Raymond (1988-89) holds the B girls record of 52.

Mindy Bandy added eight rebounds to guide a 36-29 edge for the Wildcats (8-3, 4-1), who won their seventh straight.

Tricia Lamb had 26 points and nine rebounds for SJE (8-1), which last lost March 2, 1995, to Wishkah Valley at the State B Tournament. Wishkah won that state title; SJE won last year’s.

“That’s all right; it was time to get that off our back,” SJE coach Lorin Carlon said of the streak.

SJE beat W-C 54-49 one month ago, when the Wildcats played without Alyssa Erickson. Despite fouling out, Erickson scored 13 points.
