Man Loses His Tongue In Family Feud With Brother

From Staff And Wire Reports

Bannock County authorities have responded to a family feud in which a man bit off his brother’s tongue.

Earlier this week, deputies were called to a home on the Fort Hall Reservation because of a family dispute, sheriff’s Capt. Mike Sanders said.

Two brothers were arguing. The altercation escalated into violence when one brother bit off a slice of the other’s tongue the size of a silver dollar, he said.

“He had it in his mouth for a while, showing it to everyone. Then, he spit it on the floor,” Sanders said. “When the deputies arrived a few minutes later, no one could find it.”

Family members said it landed next to the family cat, but they could not locate it.

“So, our deputies really had to ask if the cat got this guy’s tongue,” Sanders said.

The parties involved declined to press charges. No names were available.
