Valley Bank Robber Wanted By Police

From Staff Reports

Sheriff’s deputies were searching late Thursday for a man who robbed a Spokane Valley bank branch wearing a fake white beard.

Suggesting he had a gun, the man kept his right hand inside his Army jacket when he demanded money from a teller at Inland Northwest Bank, 15111 E. Sprague, about 5:30 p.m.

When tellers finished stuffing two money bags, the man told them to turn around and he fled north on Progress Road, sheriff’s spokesman David Reagan said.

Bank employees told deputies the man wore a fake beard, dark stocking cap and glasses. He was described as 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, 200-plus pounds, with a deep voice.

He left the bank carrying a green canvas U.S. Bank bag and a gray vinyl bag. Deputies called in a K-9 unit from the city Police Department to track the suspect.

The Inland Northwest Bank branch is located inside a Yoke’s Pac N’ Save grocery store.
