The planned $23 million renovation of Adams Field House at the University of Montana means the school’s men’s and women’s basketball teams won’t have any “home” games during the 1998-99 season.
“We have recently learned from the design team of the likelihood that we must find an alternative basketball site for the 1998-99 season,” Montana athletic director Wayne Hogan said Friday.
The designers say it will take 18 months to do the renovation properly, pushing back the start date one year, until after the 1997-98 season.
Various alternative game sites are being considered, including Missoula high school gyms and arenas in Butte, Great Falls and Billings.
