Johnson Lifts Clarkston By Colville

Adam Johnson drove the baseline and scored for the final basket Saturday to lift Clarkston (7-1, 1-1) to a 48-47 Frontier League boys basketball win over visiting Colville.

Colville (4-5, 0-1) called timeout before its final possession, but couldn’t get two final shots to drop.

Ryan Harms’ 3-pointer with 5:30 left in the third quarter started an 8-0 run, and the visiting Greyhounds (7-2, 2-0) rallied to beat the Rams (2-8, 0-2).

Riverside scored the game’s first 10 points but missed 19 of 24 second-half field goals. Ryan Monroe and Micah Lundberg had nine rebounds apiece for Riverside; Pullman’s Brent Cummings had 11 rebounds.

Bernice Stime had seven assists and Abbey Wood nine rebounds, and the Rams (5-5, 1-1) shot better than 40 percent from the floor for the first time this year to top the visiting Greyhounds (2-8, 0-2).

Four pins and domination at the upper weights allowed Pullman (1-0) to beat visiting Riverside 42-28 and tie East Valley and West Valley for first place in the league.

Charlie Heimbigner (108 pounds), Brandon McGreevy (158), Collin Hutton (178) and Mike Hobbs (190) had Pullman’s pins. The Greyhounds won every match from 148 up.
