Sinatra Recovering From Heart Attack

Compiled From Wire Services

Frank Sinatra remained hospitalized Saturday, two days after he was rushed there after a heart attack.

“The prognosis continues to be good,” said his spokeswoman, Susan Reynolds, who declined to speculate when Sinatra would be released.

After paramedics took Sinatra to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday, Dr. Rex Kennamer announced that the singer apparently had “an uncomplicated heart attack” and the outlook for recovery was good.

Reynolds said the singer continued to receive treatment in a private room, rather than in the intensive care unit.

Generally an uncomplicated heart attack is one that does not result in significant heart failure or pumping dysfunction, said Dr. Antoine Hage, a cardiologist at the University of California, Los Angeles.
