Bonners Rebounds With Victory

High school basketball

Bonners Ferry rebounded from back-to-back Intermountain League losses to come up with a 54-48 victory at Priest River in boys basketball Tuesday night.

The Badgers moved to 2-2 in league, 5-4 overall. Priest River fell to 0-2 in league, 3-5 overall.

Girls

Lakeside 91, Kootenai 48

The Knights won their North Star League opener in convincing fashion by dismantling Kootenai behind the 22 points of Andrew Twiss.

Kootenai made 35 turnovers. Lakeside (6-1 overall) also got 16 points from James Twoteeth while Kootenai (2-5) was led by Randy Reinhofer’s 15 points.

In Intermountain League girls basketball, St. Maries upset Kellogg behind the 18 points of Brooke Fuller.

St. Maries played their finest first half of the season to rebound from an early loss to Kellogg. The Lumberjacks (1-5 league, 5-9 overall) outrebounded the Wildcats (2-3, 4-9) 41-21.
