Two Priceless Books Found In Exercise Facility
Two of four priceless books stolen from the Adams National Historical Site have been recovered from a New Hampshire exercise facility.
The Holy Bible, known as the Mendi Bible, and the Bible Concordance were recovered in Portsmouth, N.H., on Friday, FBI spokesman Peter Ginieres said Wednesday. He would not name the facility or elaborate on the books’ recovery, citing an investigation.
The books, along with Block’s Ichthyology and a 1772 Bible, were taken from the library’s 14,000-volume collection on Nov. 11 by thieves who used a power saw to breach the front door of the small stone library.
