How they voted

Here are some of the votes cast by North Idaho lawmakers in the past week:

Sober up: A bill to strengthen the language in the”Intoxication no excuse for crime” law won introduction. Reps. June Judd, D-St. Maries, and Jim Clark, R-Hayden, members of the House Judiciary, Rules and Administration Committee, voted yes.

Price of health: A bill to introduce a $55 dollar licence fee on restaurants for health inspections was approved for introduction by the Senate Health and Welfare Committee. Sens. Gordon Crow, R-Hayden, and Clyde Boatright, R-Rathdrum, both voted yes.

Open it up: Sens. Jack Riggs, R-Coeur d’Alene, and Boatright both voted to introduce a bill that would open court proceedings for juveniles over 14 who have committed a crime that would be a felony if they were adults. Those proceedings now are closed to the public. The Senate Judiciary and Rules Committee vote was unanimous. The bill will have a full hearing later.
