Cold-Shooting Eagles Mauled By Grizzlies

Krista Redpath scored 12 points Saturday to lead a balanced scoring attack and Montana remained unbeaten in Big Sky Conference play with a 73-48 victory over Eastern Washington Saturday night at Missoula.

Montana (13-3 overall, 6-0 Big Sky) jumped to a 6-0 lead and led 33-23 at halftime.

Eastern Washington (4-12, 1-5) did not score a field goal in the first 7 minutes of the second half, and trailed 48-24 before Tanya Kirk scored a layup with 12:52 remaining.

Montana’s Greta Koss finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Skyla Sisco added 10 points.

The Eagles committed 30 turnovers and shot 35 percent from the floor for the game.

Kirk was the only force on offense for Eastern Washington. She finished with a game-high 21 points including 3-of-5 shooting on her 3-point attempts.

Julie Merdent and Brittany Lindhe combined for 32 points to lead the Dons to a West Coast Conference win over the Bulldogs in Martin Centre.

Gonzaga shot just 28 percent from the floor and 37 percent from the free-throw line.

Lydia Ledgerwood scored 12 points to pace Gonzaga.

Guards Kristina Goos and Kelly Kaiser combined for 40 points to propel UPS past the Pirates in Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges action at Tacoma.

The Loggers forced 25 Whitworth turnovers on their way to a 6-0 mark in conference play.

Sherri Northington and Rebecca Moore topped the Pirates with 11 points. Northington also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds.
