Music Class For Youngsters

Holy Names Music Center at the Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute will offer “Music Together,” a class for young children, beginning Jan. 27.

The 10-week program is designed for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, along with their parents or care-givers. Each class is 45 minutes long.

A free class will be offered at 7 p.m., Monday. For more information, call 326-9516. The music center is located at 3910 W. Custer Drive.

Jazz ensemble down under

The Whitworth College Jazz Ensemble will perform at this month’s Marvelous Melbourne Jazz Festival in Melbourne, Australia.

The ensemble, directed by Dan Keberle, is the only American college or university band chosen to perform at this prestigious event, which runs through Jan. 27.

Local artist one of 8 women

The Indigo Gallery in Lake Oswego, Ore., is showing an exhibit titled “Eight Women/Two Men.” The group show of West Coast artists includes the work of Spokane’s Sheilah Bliss who fashions raku pottery. The exhibit runs through Feb. 1.
