Get A Hunch, Bet A Bunch

Until proven otherwise, eight days of racing have demonstrated that horses that have shown speed at Emerald Downs are likely to win here. Thus, the pick of All Fire in today’s first.

In the fifth race, B.D. Cube (5th) deserves another chance. Jacob Brown stands out in the feature, but at a short price, it’s fair to wonder why he has shown so much improvement on wet tracks. There are many unknowns in the eighth. Trying drawing a line through Bear Bunny, who seems to be a trap horse.

Saturday’s footing was sloppy and, true to form, Wake Up Sassy Boy and Sassy Wake, full brother and sister, came home winners. Our Dave’s victory in the eighth turned a losing day into a winner.

Here are today’s selections:

FIRST: $10 to win on ALL FIRE and a $5 double pairing him with SHARP PIRATE.

FOURTH: $10 to win on SCOTTIE CARD.

FIFTH: $5 exactas pairing B.D. CUBE with HILLBILLY DELUXE, GRAY GUY and WE BE TRYING ($15). Parlay half of winnings to win on TWO AN OH (6th).

SEVENTH: $10 to win on JACOB BROWN, $5 quinellas pairing him with SPOKANE CHARLIE, PRAIRIE WALKER and JUSTANOTHERBILL ($15).

Original bankroll: $2,000.

Sunday’s result: Won $3.10.

Present bankroll: $2,206.90.
