University of Connecticut starters Ricky Moore and Kirk King cannot travel with the team until their suspensions are lifted, leaving doubt about whether they’ll play Wednesday at the University of Miami.
There’s little chance the two will be on the team flight this morning because the NCAA offices were closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Moore, a sophomore, and King, a senior captain, were declared ineligible last week pending an NCAA ruling on whether they should be further penalized for accepting improper gifts - reportedly airline tickets. They already missed UConn’s loss to Kansas Sunday.
Fire caused at least $100,000 damage to University of Miami’s basketball office before dawn in Coral Gables, Fla., and water damage left locker rooms and a weight room unusable.
