Murder Figure Held In Shooting

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane man acquitted of murder last year has been arrested for another shooting, police said.

Kenneth Dale Gooch, 41, was arrested Tuesday for assaulting his brother, David Gooch.

The victim told police his brother entered his home with a semiautomatic weapon at 8 p.m. Jan. 15.

David Gooch said his brother ordered him to hang up the phone, then accused him of calling police. Before leaving, Kenneth Gooch allegedly fired a shot that missed his brother’s head.

On Jan. 15, 1996, Gooch shot and killed Vito Tombari in front of Tombari’s residence on South Cannon. Gooch claimed self-defense and a jury found him not guilty of murder.

Gooch has an extensive criminal record, with convictions for drug offenses, robbery, assaults, burglaries and forgery, police said. , DataTimes
