Woman Stalks, Kills Ex-Boyfriend

Associated Press

A woman ordered to stay away from her ex-boyfriend donned a beard, glasses and baseball cap, and shot him to death at work before killing herself.

Just last week, Cheryl Vivier was charged with aggravated stalking, less than four months after she was slapped with a trespass warning to keep off the property of George Long, co-owner of the Alligator Lakeside Inn.

Long, 45, and Vivier, 41, had dated for several years before splitting up a few months ago, relatives said.

Vivier, disguised as a fisherman, was armed with two handguns when she confronted Long at the motel Monday. Sheriff’s deputies said Long was able to take one gun from her, but she pulled out the second one and shot him four times in the chest. Then she killed herself.

“If it was a woman being stalked, it wouldn’t have gotten this far,” said Long’s niece, Kina Rewis. “They think men can take care of themselves, but not when it’s a psychotic woman involved.”
