Indy Runner-Up Injured

Compiled From Wire Services

Davy Jones, the runner-up in last year’s Indianapolis 500, smashed his car into a wall during practice but regained consciousness and could be out of the hospital in a few days.

Rick Galles, owner of Jones’ car, said the driver was heavily sedated but woke up long enough to open his eyes and squeeze his wife’s hand.
