Tom Hargreaves Appointed To County Planning Commission

Tom Hargreaves a writer and neighborhood organizer, has been appointed to the Spokane County Planning Commission.

“I’d like to increase the feeling of fairness in the planning process,” he said. “I want to bring out what the common people think, the citizens.”

“I’m going to participate and do the best I can.”

Retired from the U.S. Air Force, Hargreaves moved to Spokane eight years ago and settled near the confluence of Deadman Creek and Little Deep Creek to pursue his writing.

He’s emphatic that he’s not anti-development, but that development should be appropriate for it’s location, community and environment.

He’d like to see more communication between neighborhoods and builders. “If we brought homeowners and developers together more often, we might understand each other better,” he said.
