Whitworth Presbyterian Forming Mom’s Group

A new group for mothers with young children is forming at Whitworth Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road.

The first Mom’s SOS (Sharing Our Support) meeting will discuss relationships, titled “Romance … What’s That?” Meetings will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month.

Mothers will be able to participate in a small craft project each month. Future topics may include tips on various activities for children and a humorous look at spring cleaning, says organizer Debbie Walker.

Advance registration is required and child care will be provided. The class is free and open to all. To register or for more information, call the church office at 466-0305.

Also at Whitworth Presbyterian, Neil Munro, former pastor of the Presbyterian church in Sitka, Alaska, will discuss the part women have played in Alaskan mission work.

The event will begin next Tuesday with dessert potluck at 6:30. Munro’s presentation will follow from 7 to 8 p.m. The presentation is free and open to all. For more information, call the church office.

Augustana College choir

A concert featuring the choir from Augustana College in North Dakota will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 302 W. Augusta.

The concert is free, but a free will offering will benefit Omega, a church organization that assists the poor. All attending are asked to bring cans of food for Omega House, a neighborhood resource center. For more information, call 328-7820.

Saints Alive holding potluck

Saints Alive, a group for seniors age 55 and older, will hold a New Beginnings potluck for seniors who want to join the group Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Open Bible, 8303 N. Division. Those who wish to attend are asked to call the church office at 467-5122 in advance to reserve a space. For more information, call the church office.
