William Seaton Silverton, Idaho

Memorial service for William Newton “Bill” Seaton, 73, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Wallace (Idaho) United Church of Christ Congregational. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Seaton, who was born in Wyoming, died Monday.

He graduated from Fullerton College in California before moving to the Silver Valley in 1974.

Mr. Seaton worked as manager for Mining and Construction Equipment Co. in Wallace for many years and also worked as a jailer and dispatcher at the Shoshone County Sheriff’s office.

He served on the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Posse for 14 years and was also a Shoshone County commissioner for four years.

Mr. Seaton was a member of the Shoshone County Search and Rescue, the Shoshone Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Coeur d’Alene, the Calam Temple of Shriners in Lewiston, Idaho, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 10, the Presidential Council Area Agency on Aging and served as president of the Shoshone County Senior Services of Osburn.

He was also a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Wallace and was a World War II Pearl Harbor survivor.

Mr. Seaton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna; two daughters, Joan Halverson of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Carolyn Gribble of Clarkston, Wash.; three brothers, Robert Seaton of Colorado, John Seaton of New Jersey and Arthur Seaton of Washington; two sisters, Patty and Lenore, both of Colorado; and eight grandchildren.

Grace Pretre Clark Fork

Service for Grace Katherine Pretre, 91, will be at 1 p.m. today at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at the Hope (Idaho) Cemetery.

Mrs. Pretre, who was born in Hope, died Saturday.

She grew up in Clark Fork and attended Hope School.

She worked as a cook for the U.S. Forest Service and Washington State University. She retired in 1971.

Her husband, Hugh, died in 1958.

Survivors include a son, Robert Pretre of Florida; a brother, Robert Green of Fall City, Wash.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Patrick Sullivan Spokane

Funeral Mass for Patrick “Pat” D. Sullivan, 78, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sullivan, who was born in Merrill, Wis., died Monday.

He graduated from Gonzaga University in 1943 and was owner and operator of Sullivan Vault Company in Spokane.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Esmeralda Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Sullivan; two daughters, Megan Lueder of Elk and Kathleen Sullivan of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; a son, Daniel Sullivan of Spokane; a sister, Cecelia Ament of Merrill, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Care Center or the Poor Clare Nuns.

Xythel Twist Moscow, Idaho

Service for Xythel B. Twist, 85, is set for 2 p.m. today at the Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse.

Mrs. Twist, who was born in Garfield, Wash., died Monday.

She married Wycliffe Rice in 1929. They moved to Harvard, Idaho. Mr. Rice died in 1951.

She moved to Palouse in 1951 and worked as a telephone operator for GTE.

In 1956 she married the Rev. Arthur Twist and they moved to Princeton, Idaho, and later Orofino, Idaho.

After her husband’s retirement, the couple moved to Moscow, where she worked as a telephone operator for the University of Idaho from 1964 until she retired in 1990.

Rev. Twist died in 1986.

Mrs. Twist was a member of the Moscow Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by a son, Vincent Rice of Juliaetta, Idaho; two daughters, Jessie Nelson of Bozeman, Mont., and Patricia Knoke of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a sister, Louella Colvin of Princeton, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Carol (Uhrich) Sewall Harrington, Wash.

Private service for Carol (Uhrich) Sewall, 68, will be held. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sewall, who was born in Odessa, Wash., died Monday.

She was a graduate of Odessa High School and ran a beauty salon in Harrington, Wash., for many years. In 1949, she married Robert Sewall. They operated Sewall Excavating in Harrington, Wash.

Mrs. Sewall was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and Eagles Lodge No. 2.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Ilona Wiley of Spokane, Heidi Sewall of Redmond, Wash. and Amy Philadelphia of Reston, Va.; two sisters, Rita Voise an Sharon Pfeifer both of Odessa, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrington United Methodist Church.

Colleen ‘Cindy’ Hasbrouck Spokane

Memorial service for Colleen “Cindy” Hasbrouck, 44, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Covenant United Methodist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Hasbrouck, who died Sunday, was born in Aberdeen, Wash.

She had lived in Spokane for 22 years.

Ms. Hasbrouck worked on her father’s fishing boat in Westport, Wash., and at Washington Crab Producers in Westport. She later owned A Touch of Grass lawn care business in Spokane.

She is survived by her mother, Bette Hasbrouck of Westport; her twin sister, Cathy Bowman of Montesano, Wash., and three other sisters, Sally England of Vancouver, Wash., Christine Petrick of Raymond, Wash., and Paula Lawhon of Anchorage, Alaska.

Judy Wilson Pullman

A gathering for Judy Marlene Wilson, 56, will be at 3 p.m. today at Shermers Restaurant in Pullman. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Mrs. Wilson died Saturday.

She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and worked for U.S. Bank as a teller.

She later worked at Washington State University’s Campus Commons as a bookkeeper. She had recently retired.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Wilson of Quincy, Wash., and Ronald Wilson of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Rhonda Russell of Rogers, Ark.; a brother, Ralph Stone of Kennewick; five sisters, Evelyn Soter, Lela Grondahl, Lila Zimmerman and Kay Paggett, all of Spokane, and Mary Viture of Allan, Saskatchewan; and four grandchildren.

Hazel Watkins Spokane

Funeral service for Hazel M. Watkins, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Watkins, who was born in Emmerson, N.D., died Monday.

She was a 55-year Spokane resident and worked as a bookkeeper for the credit department at Sears for 15 years.

She had also worked for Jobbers Warehouse in Spokane for 15 years.

Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Her husband, Kelsey Watkins, died in 1977.

Survivors include two sisters, Dolores Brandt of Spokane and Elnora Anderson of Independence, Mo.; and a brother, Elmo Dinehart of Spokane.

Bradley Day Pullman

Graveside memorial service for Bradley Day, 77, is set for 11 a.m. July 19 at the Moscow (Idaho) Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Day, who was born in London, Ky., died Friday.

He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps at the age of 17. He served in the military during World War II.

He later worked for the Agriculture Department at Washington State University.

His wife, Adeline, died in 1959.

Mr. Day is survived by two daughters, Amy Riba of Pullman and Debra Tait of Spokane; five sons, Vern Day of Kalama, Wash., Ronald, Jerry, William and Wayne Day, all of Spokane; three sisters, Pearl Mammock of London, Ky., Nancy Means of Waco, Ky., and Beaula Taylor of Richmond, Ky.; a brother, Earl Day of Dayton, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Roy Johnson Spokane

No service will be held for Roy E. Johnson, 73, at his request. Inurnment will be in Boys Town, Neb., at a later date. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnson, who was born in Hartford, S.D., died Monday.

He served in the Navy during World War II as a pilot.

He was a 20-year Spokane resident and worked as a salesman for building materials companies.

Mr. Johnson is survived by a son, Roy Johnson Jr. of Seattle; a daughter, Dianne Johnson of Woodinville, Wash.; a twin brother, Ray Johnson of Spokane; and two granddaughters.

Irene McCormick Spokane

Funeral Mass for Irene J. McCormick, 81, was Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. McCormick died Sunday.

She was a graduate of Great Falls High School.

She worked for the First National Bank of Great Falls and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

In 1941 she married Charles McCormick. They moved to Spokane in 1960 after her husband retired from the Army.

Mrs. McCormick taught second grade at Assumption and St. Aloysius grade schools. She was also a volunteer at Assumption Parish and for the Red Cross at Fairchild Air Force Base hospital.

She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Indian Trail Garden Club and the Women of Water Power.

Mrs. McCormick was a founder of the Bernstein and Sousa chapters of the Spokane Symphony Associates. In 1978 she received the Outstanding Symphony Volunteer of the Year award from the Symphony Associates.

Her husband died in 1994.

Survivors include two sons, James McCormick of Spokane, and Charles McCormick of Lexington, Ky.; two daughters, Molly Blume of Issaquah, Wash., and Mickey McCormick of Spokane; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Michael Langley Prineville, Ore.

Memorial service for Michael Joseph “Mike” Langley, 34, will be at a later date. Prineville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Langley, who was born in Santa Monica, Calif., died Saturday in an automobile accident near Bend, Ore.

He graduated from West Valley High School and worked in the auto parts business.

He moved to Prineville 10 years ago and worked for Les Schwab Tires as a purchasing agent.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Prineville and the Prineville Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Darla Langley; a son, Joshua Langley, at home; his father and stepmother, Ronald and Gale Langley of Spokane; two brothers, Brad Langley of Portland and Greg Lobkowski of Madera, Calif.; three sisters, Michele Langley of Spokane, and Monica and Wendi Langley, both of Portland.

Robert Flachmeyer Spokane

Memorial service for Robert Edward Flachmeyer, 64, was Sunday at the Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Mr. Flachmeyer, who was born in Anaconda, Mont., died June 23.

He had lived in Spokane for 15 years and was a retired employee of Boeing Aircraft.

He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Evans, Laurie Briggs, Linda Bronson and Amy Jensen; three sons, Raymond, Michael and Sean Flachmeyer; his father, William Flachmeyer; and 11 grandchildren.
