Young Blazers Center Is Late

Jermaine O’Neal, who went from high school to the Portland Trail Blazers, showed Thursday that while he may be on the verge of NBA stardom, there’s still plenty of teenager left inside.

O’Neal, 18, missed his 10 a.m. court hearing on a disorderly conduct charge when he thought he didn’t have to attend. The 7-footer later said he expected to pay a $300 fine by the end of the day, but his attorney, I.S. Leevy Johnson, said the case likely won’t be settled until Monday.
