Softwood Orders Off For The Week

The Western Wood Products Association said lumber production was 347 million board feet, 5 million feet more than the previous week. Orders were 365 million board feet, 10 million feet under the previous week’s level. Shipments were reported at 378 million feet, an increase of 21 million feet.

Figures for the same week a year ago show production at 337 million board feet, orders 389 million feet and shipments 406 million feet.

Year-to-date figures through 26 weeks of 1997 show production at 8.723 billion board feet, orders at 8.668 billion board feet and shipments at 8.642 billion board feet. Totals for a year ago at this time show production at 7.825 billion board feet, orders at 8.070 billion board feet and shipments at 7.909 billion board feet.
