Partial Body Identified As Male

From Staff And Wire Reports

An autopsy of a partial skeleton found Saturday in Latah Creek shows it is the body of a man.

The cause of death was not determined and the body has not been identified. Investigators said the victim appeared to be between 15 and 23 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 in height, with light brown hair.

Three people floating in inner tubes discovered the body, which was caught in a tree at the edge of the creek near the 10700 block of South Hangman Valley Road.

The body was badly decomposed and had been in the water for several weeks, Sheriff’s Department investigators said.

The only piece of clothing on the body was one tennis shoe.
