Barkley Best Quote In Nba Outspoken Rocket Heads All-Interview Team

Houston Rockets forward Charles Barkley was named to the National Basketball Association’s All-Interview team for the 10th time in the 11-year history of the award.

Barkley, an 11-time NBA All-Star, led all players with 74 votes and is joined on the All-Interview first team by New Jersey Nets forward Jayson Williams, who had 47 votes. Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan and Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone each received 37 votes, while Detroit Pistons forward Grant Hill received 16 votes.

Seattle’s George Karl led all coaches with 28 votes.

Sports writers and broadcasters throughout the U.S. and Canada were asked to vote for five players, regardless of position, and a coach based on their accessibility and ability to provide informative and interesting quotes.

Voters named 75 players and 19 coaches on at least one ballot.

Chicago guard Steve Kerr headed the All-Interview second team with 15 votes, while Atlanta Hawks center Dikembe Mutombo received 12 votes. Miami Heat guard Tim Hardaway and New York Knicks forward Buck Williams each received 11 votes and Indiana Pacers guard Reggie Miller got 10 votes.

Barkley’s coach, Rudy Tomjanovich, received nine votes to be named second-team coach.
