Tyson Has Shot At Fighting In U.S.

Compiled From Wire Services

If Mike Tyson wants to fight in the U.S., he may get the chance.

One state - Oklahoma - will let him, as long as all proceeds are donated to charity.

Another state - Iowa - is considering whether to take advantage of the huge profits that a Tyson fight could generate.

Oklahoma boxing commissioner Jim Gasso said his state will allow Tyson to box if the fighter and his promoter, Don King, give all the profit to charities benefiting amateur boxing and underprivileged children.

U.S. boxing commissioners have made a verbal agreement to honor Nevada’s revocation of Tyson’s license. The agreement is not legally binding and a new federal law passed July 1 requiring states to honor other states’ suspensions for health and safety-related issues doesn’t apply in Tyson’s case, boxing commissioners said.
