U.S. Amateur Boxing will sponsor an amateur boxing tournament in Louisville, Ky., that could draw fighters from more than 50 countries.

The tournament, to be named the Muhammad Ali Cup after the boxing legend who is from the city, would be scheduled for Sept. 15-19.

The Philadelphia 76ers, a day after signing Tim Thomas, got Anthony Parker’s name on a contract. The two first-round picks were sent to Philadelphia in a deal with the New Jersey Nets.
