Mccarron Reaches 6,500

Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron became the seventh rider in thoroughbred racing to win 6,500 races when he guided Le Casque Gris to the winner’s circle at Hollywood Park.

McCarron, 42, joins Bill Shoemaker, the winningest rider with 8,833 victories, Laffit Pincay Jr., David Gall, Angel Cordero Jr., Pat Day and Jorge Velasquez.
