Girls Reach For Stars

Vice President Al Gore on Friday unveiled a photograph of Mars taken by the Pathfinder and used the opportunity to encourage a group of teenage members of Girls Nation to reach for the stars. “I want you to dream,” he told the hundred attendees. He said one of them could be the first person to set foot on Mars or become president. Perhaps, he said with a chuckle, one of them would fulfill “every young American’s dream” of becoming vice president.
