50-Year-Old Skeleton Fished Out Of Snoqualmie River

Compiled From Wire Services

A fisherman hooked a human skull on his line shortly before noon Sunday on the Snoqualmie River and could see the rest of the skeleton in the water below his boat.

King County police sent divers to respond to the call at the Raging River boat launch near Fall City, 20 miles east of Seattle, and they pulled out the skeleton.

The remains are more than 50 years old, said police spokeswoman Joanne Elledge.

The King County medical examiner’s staff will consult a forensic anthropologist and is expected to have an idea of the skeleton’s age and gender later, Elledge said.
